The US Federal Regulations require financial institutions like NALA to obtain the Social Security Number (SSN)* Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) of users. This information is then verified by our banking partner, in order to confirm your identity.

Your Social Security Number and Individual Taxpayer Identification Number are stored and encrypted in a dedicated high-security database and are never shared with anyone after your identity is verified. It can't be retrieved by NALA employees except to comply with your US Federal regulations.

*Please note that sharing your SSN will not impact your credit score and your SSN information never leaves the USA.
