How does NALA make money?
Updated over a week ago

At NALA, we are committed to making money transfers affordable and accessible for everyone. When you make a transfer with NALA, we use mid-market rates as a baseline. This means that we use the average exchange rate between two currencies, ensuring that you are getting a fair and accurate rate for your transfer.

However, we do add a very tiny percentage markup on the exchange rate. This helps us cover our costs for running NALA, such as maintaining our website and providing customer support. We want to be transparent about this markup and assure you that it is minimal and necessary for us to continue providing our services.

In addition to the exchange rate markup, we also apply a small charge for bank account transfers as well as Buy Goods and Paybill services (to Kenya). This charge helps us cover the fees that our banking partners charge us for processing these types of transactions. We constantly review and adjust these charges to ensure that they are as low as possible for our customers.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team. Thank you for choosing NALA! 🩵
