Send money to a NALA Friend.
Updated this week

What's new?

The "Send to a NALA Friend" feature allows users to transfer money to other NALA users within the same region— either UK to UK or EU to EU.

These transfers are super fast and take just seconds.

For first-time transactions, the transfer will be pending until the recipient accepts or rejects the payment. Ensure that you are in communication with your NALA friend to drive a smoother and faster experience.

Who can use this feature?

This feature is available to users in the UK and the EU only. While we are not live in the US at this time, we will make sure to communicate with our US customers as we continue to improve the product.

When should I use this feature?

Whether you’re splitting a bill, paying back a friend, or collecting funds for an event, NALA Friends makes it quick, easy and hassle-free.

Are there any fees?

UK: We do not charge fees for transfers within the UK.

EU: A flat fee of €0.99 is applied to all transfers you send to your NALA friends, regardless of the amount. The imposed fee covers the cost of enabling instant payments across different EU countries.

How do I send money to a NALA Friend?

  1. Open the NALA app on your mobile device.

  2. Click on the Send button.

  3. Choose 'Send to a NALA Friend' from the options provided.

  4. Select a NALA Friend from your contacts list or click 'Add NALA Friend' to add a new recipient.

  5. If you’re adding a new NALA Friend:

    1. Enter their NALA Tag and click 'Add User.'

    2. Confirm that the recipient is correct by reviewing the brief description of the user.

  6. Enter the amount you wish to send and hit 'Send.'

Important Note:

For first-time transactions, the recipient must accept the transfer in their NALA app to complete the payment. This is a one-time process. After that, future payments will be instant.
