Updated over 3 weeks ago

What is the 2.5% Government Incentive?

The Government of Bangladesh offers a 2.5% cash incentive on remittances sent by Bangladeshi expatriates through legal banking channels. This initiative aims to encourage the use of official remittance channels, strengthen foreign exchange reserves, and support the country's economy.

Who is Eligible?

• Beneficiaries receiving remittances in Bangladesh through approved financial institutions.

• The incentive applies only to remittances sent via banks and licensed remittance service providers.

• The incentive applies only to personal remittances, not to business transactions.

How Does It Work?

• When a sender transfers money to Bangladesh, the recipient receives an additional 2.5% incentive on the remitted amount.

• The incentive is automatically credited to the recipient’s account by the receiving bank.

• As NALA, we do not control the delivery of the bonus. Please report to the recipient bank if there is an issue.

• No additional documentation is required for remittances up to BDT 5,00,000. For amounts exceeding BDT 5,00,000, the sender may be required to provide valid proof of income (e.g., work permit, salary slip) to the recipient bank. Example Calculation If you send BDT 1,00,000 to Bangladesh, the recipient will receive BDT 1,02,500 (including the 2.5% incentive).

Please note The program is subject to government regulations and may change over time.
